The resort is set on an isthmus with the Caribbean Sea to the immediate North and the tranquil Rodney Bay on the South. The 200 year old Fort Rodney sits to the Southwest which seems to be protecting the bay and the manicured beachfront resort. It lies approximately 40 miles from the main airport.

The number and quality of facilities and services on offer at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian are first class. There are a number of dining opportunities at the resort which compromises of a traditional English Pub, a poolside bar, an authentic Italian Restaurant and Barefoot by the Sea - a speciality grill located on the beach which serves delicious Latin American and Caribbean fare. The sports and leisure facilities include a fully equipped Fitness Centre, tennis, volleyball as well as a five star diamond award winning European Red Lane Spa offering a great selection of body treatments, massages, facials, manicures and others. Guests can explore their aquatic side with deep-sea scuba diving, windsurfing or swimming in any of the four impressive pools. There are also many water sports offered at the resort which include sailing, diving, windsurfing, and many more. In addition the hotel is able to offer its guests a number of excursions in the nearby area.
